2nd Engineer — Cruise Ship

AIDA Cruises, one of the world's leading and most innovative cruise operators, is looking for a 2nd Engineer to join its international onboard team on a worldwide-sailing cruise ship. The position offers a gross annual package of 58,248 EUR and a contract length of 3 months, with joining scheduled as soon as possible.

Requirements

• Valid national Second Engineer Certificate of Competency (COC III/2 unlimited) issued per STCW regulations
• Minimum of 2 completed contracts in a similar engineering rank; prior cruise vessel experience is considered an advantage
• Strong command of English with excellent communication skills
• High motivation and a genuine willingness to develop professionally
• Guest- and service-oriented mindset, capable of teamwork as well as leading and motivating engine department staff
• Ability to safely manage an engineering watch when assigned as watchkeeper
• Competence in organizing preventive maintenance and coordinating repairs for the assigned sub-department in line with ERM procedures
• Responsibility for enforcing occupational health, safety and fire protection rules across the engine department, including conducting or delegating relevant training
• Skill in performing PMS-based maintenance tasks, including inventory checks of spares and consumables
• Compliance with the company's Quality Management System (QMS) and Learning Management System (LMS) requirements
