Job Description

An experienced Chief Engineer is sought for an AHTS vessel currently anchored off Fujairah, UAE, working the UAE/Strait of Hormuz sailing area on an 8 weeks on/off rotation. The vessel, built in 2003, runs 4 x Bergen B32:40L6P engines producing 4023 BHP at 750 RPM each, with a gross tonnage of 3450 GRT, and does not operate in DP mode, so no DP maintenance certificate is needed. Daily pay is set at 600 EUR, negotiable, with boarding expected after 20 September.

Requirements

  • Minimum 24 months of sea service as Chief Engineer aboard AHT/AHTS vessels
  • Prior hands-on experience with Bergen main engines
  • Demonstrated, solid background in open-sea towing operations
  • Valid STCW certification
  • Valid Liberian endorsement/certificates and Seaman's Book considered an advantage
  • Good command of spoken and written English
  • Willingness to serve in the Strait of Hormuz, an area with conflict/high-risk conditions, and full awareness of and comfort with the current regional situation
