Seamen's Club Ukraine was contacted by a seafarer requesting assistance in locating his friend and an active subscriber of our community — Yegor Zadorozhnyi, 28 years old, a citizen of Ukraine, who went missing from the vessel M/V AETOS (IMO 9527960).

📍 Date of disappearance:* July 5, 2026
🕒 Time:* Approximately between 13:00 and 20:00 ship's time (UTC+3)
🌊 Location: Northern part of the Mozambique Channel, with a potential drift towards the Seychelles islands — Aldabra and Assumption
According to available information, Yegor was on the navigation bridge until 13:00. Afterward, he changed into sports gear, put on a Garmin Forerunner watch and headphones, took his work phone, and went out onto the deck for a workout.
Later, only the resistance bands he used for training were found on the deck. No other traces have been discovered.
### Key Circumstances:
* His family and loved ones firmly state that Yegor had no suicidal ideations, personal issues, or life struggles that could explain his disappearance.
* At 12:30, he informed his common-law wife that he was going to exercise and planned to contact her later that evening.
* The circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain highly unclear.
There are serious contradictions in the crew members' statements* regarding the weather conditions and the vessel's actions after his absence was discovered.
* Questions remain as to why the vessel did not execute a full return along its route or initiate an active search immediately after realizing a potential Man Overboard (MOB) incident had occurred.
Furthermore, the nature of the initial incident report raises red flags: the alert was transmitted as "Nature Unknown" rather than "Man Overboard" (MOB).
At this time, no scenarios can be ruled out — ranging from an accident to potential foul play. A thorough independent investigation and immediate search operations are strictly required.
⚠️ Currently, there is a possibility that Yegor might be alive and located on one of the Seychelles islands — Aldabra or Assumption. Time is of the essence.
### URGENT CALL TO ACTION
Yegor’s friends and relatives are appealing to international maritime and aviation authorities, search and rescue services (SAR), shipowners, aircraft operators, and anyone in a position to help:
🔹 Organize aerial reconnaissance* of the area (planes, helicopters, or UAVs where possible).
🔹 Search the coastlines, beaches, and shelters* of Aldabra and Assumption islands.
🔹 Interview personnel/individuals* currently stationed on these islands.
🔹 Alert all vessels and aircraft* operating within the search area.
🔹 Scale up the international search and rescue operation.
🔹 Ensure the preservation of all potential evidence* and initiate an independent investigation.
> This is not just a request for information. This is an urgent humanitarian appeal for help. Every single hour matters.
