Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Marine Engineer to join a growing commercial marine operator based in Aberdeen. This is an initial 6-month temporary contract, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate. Working aboard a 35-metre barge supporting harbour and offshore operations, you will be responsible for maintaining the vessel's engines, machinery and auxiliary systems to ensure safe and reliable day-to-day operations.

This is a varied, hands-on engineering role where you will carry out planned preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair mechanical faults, assist during vessel operations and ensure all engineering work is completed in line with industry regulations and safety standards. You will work closely with the Captain and onboard crew, playing an integral role in the overall performance of the vessel.

The ideal candidate will have a strong marine engineering background, excellent fault-finding skills and enjoy working as part of a small, professional team. This opportunity would suit someone looking to demonstrate their skills within an established marine operation, with the possibility of securing a permanent role and building a long-term career in one of Scotland's busiest ports.
